MORE than 50 employers, training providers, support services and voluntary organisations will take part in a major jobs and skills event this autumn.
The Brentwood Jobs, Skills and Volunteering Event will be held on Wednesday, October 7, at The Brentwood Centre from 11am to 3pm.
Free to attend, the event is hosted by Brentwood Borough Council in partnership with Brentwood Jobcentre Plus and Brentwood Community and Voluntary Service (CVS).
Councillor David Kendall, chair of the finance and future development committee at Brentwood Borough Council, said: "The Brentwood Jobs, Skills and Volunteering Event brings together employers, training providers and support organisations to create opportunities for people at every stage of their career journey.
"As well as helping residents find jobs and develop new skills, the event will provide tailored support for young people who are not currently in education, employment or training, ensuring they can access the guidance and opportunities they need to succeed.
"I encourage anyone looking to take their next step to come along and see what’s on offer."
Attendees will be able to explore job vacancies, apprenticeships, skills programmes, training courses and volunteering opportunities while meeting directly with employers and organisations.
The event is open to all, including those entering the workforce, returning to employment, looking to retrain, or seeking volunteering experience.
A dedicated zone will be available for 16 to 24-year-olds who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET).
This area will offer specialist advice and support on pathways into work, education, and training.
