Clare, lifestyle co-ordinator at Winifred Dell, said: "It was wonderful to see new friendships forming and smiles on people’s faces. Witnessing the joy that can be created through conversation was a highlight for me, and I hope these relationships continue to develop."
Recognising the positive impact of the events, Clare invited residents from Goldenley Care Home to join the café.
Guests were greeted with a warm welcome and soon began engaging in conversation and finding common interests.
Faith, lifestyle co-ordinator, performed familiar songs to encourage reminiscence through familiar music. Residents clapped, sang along, and shared personal memories connected to the music, highlighting the emotional power of song in prompting conversation and connection.
Following the success of the visit, Winifred Dell and Goldenley Care Home plan to continue their collaboration at future memory cafés, giving residents further opportunities to enjoy time together and develop their friendships.
