Emergency gas works have closed a road in Upminster and a lane on the nearby A127.

Cadent Gas has shut Front Lane, near to where it joins Southend Arterial Road (A127), for the works.

The closure, which came into force on Monday (September 14), is expected to last until September 22 at 11.59pm.

A lane is also closed near to the junction on the A127 due to the emergency gas works, however this closure is set to be lifted by September 18.

Roadworks platform Causeway one.network has warned drivers that delays are "likely" as a result of the closures.

Meanwhile, a lane further along the A127 towards its junction with the M25 is expected to close from today (September 16) until September 18 for Openreach works.
