A pub in Noak Hill is set to close for a month-long refurbishment this autumn.

The Deers Rest has announced it will shut temporarily on October 25 at 6pm to undergo a major revamp.

The boozer in Noak Hill Road expects to reopen in November, with two "massive" launch party nights on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.

Both events will feature live singers or DJs and are scheduled to take place from 8pm.

In a post on Facebook, The Deers Rest said: "The wait is nearly over… and we’re coming back bigger, brighter and better.

"Our refurbishment is bringing a fresh new look to The Deers Rest, and we’re celebrating our reopening with two massive launch party nights!

"We genuinely cannot wait to welcome you all back and show you the new-look Deers Rest."

The improvements will include Sky Sports and TNT Sports back on the screens at the pub and later kitchen opening hours.

A spokesperson for Marston's, which owns the pub, said: "We're investing in The Deers Rest because we believe in its future and its important role within the local community.

"Grandstand pubs are community pubs at their heart, offering a welcoming space for families, friends, local groups and sports fans alike."

The pub assured customers it will keep them updated throughout the closure via its Facebook page.

The Deers Rest was previously treated to a fresh lick of paint, new carpets and upgraded lighting in April but did not close during these renovations.
