A woman was found dead when her landlord and bailiffs entered her home to evict her, an inquest heard.

Beana Khan, 45, was found deceased at her home on Katherine Road in East Ham on August 21.

An inquest into Ms Khan’s death was opened at East London Coroner’s Court in Walthamstow on Wednesday (September 2).

Coroner’s officer Jean Smyth said: “I understand the circumstances to be that Beana Khan’s landlord had undertaken eviction proceedings.

“The landlord entered the property with a locksmith and bailiffs to carry out evictions on August 21, 2026, but sadly Beana Khan was found deceased within the property.”

Her cause of death is currently unascertained.

Police carried out a search of the property but did not find anything suspicious, the court heard.

A full inquest will take place at a later date.
