A brand new branch of a global chicken shop chain will open in one of Romford's shopping centres in only two months time.
Wingstop will arrive at The Brewery in October this year, according to a post made today (August 11) on The Brewery's Facebook page.
It read: "Stop! Romford we've got news.
"A brand new Wingstop is landing in Romford this October 2026!
"Get ready for crispy wings, bold flavours, serious sauce and a whole lot of wing-ding!
"Consider this your official wing-warning."
Centre manager of The Brewery, Stuart Wilson said: "I am particularly excited to announce that Wingstop is due to open at The Brewery at the end of October, with promotional vinyls going up this week.
"This is a hugely adored brand, and we’re delighted they have chosen The Brewery for their next opening."
Work spotted at the former TGI Fridays last week (Image: NQ)
Up until September 2024, unit 11 was occupied by TGI Fridays which closed down with immediate effect after the chain entered administration.
Last Thursday (August 6), construction works were spotted at the unit - but a spokesperson from The Brewery at the time could not confirm what brand would be opening here.
When our reporter visited the site last week, the doors to the unit were open with a scaffolding platform and materials visible outside but tarpaulin had later been installed around the barriers.
The confirmed arrival of Wingstop comes months after a planning application titled 'Wingstop Romford' was approved by Havering Council in April.
In early January an equipment specification document was submitted as part of plans for "external alterations, installation of external extract riser and louvre to the rear or the unit and associated works to facilitate the subdivision of unit 11" in The Brewery.
Wingstop, which was founded in 1994 in Texas, specialises in chicken wings and tenders, but also offers American-inspired sides, milkshakes, loaded fries and more.
It now has more than 1,500 branches across the world, according to its website.
Wingstop has been directly contacted for further information.
