"He had the biggest heart and the cheekiest smile.

"Our lives will never be the same without him.

"At this incredibly difficult time, we kindly ask that our family’s privacy is respected as we try to come to terms with this unimaginable loss.

"We are grateful for the love, support, and kind messages we have received, but we ask for time and space while we grieve together."

Police are investigating the incident and are keen to trace a small blue convertible car that was seen travelling along Hay Green Lane around the time of the collision.

A GoFundMe has been arranged for the victim's family, where it is understood that donations will go towards easing any financial burden on the family to allow them to grieve.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
