Trains running through east London and Essex are set to be disrupted this week due to planned engineering works.

Services across c2c's Basildon, Ockendon and Rainham lines are being affected early this week due to the works.

The disruption began yesterday (August 3) and will continue today (August 4) and tomorrow (August 5) with further disruption expected on Sunday (August 9).

On the Basildon line, across today and tomorrow, services are being diverted to Liverpool Street, stopping at Stratford but not at Limehouse or West Ham, according to c2c's website.

The last Fenchurch Street departure to Shoeburyness via Basildon is at 8.29pm.

After 10.45pm, trains are being rerouted via Grays, skipping stops at Upminster, West Horndon, Laindon and Basildon.

A shuttle service is operating between Upminster and Pitsea via Laindon.

The final Liverpool Street service to Shoeburyness via Basildon leaves at 9.52pm.

Journeys between Fenchurch Street and Barking are also disrupted on the Ockendon line from 8.45pm, and between Barking and Upminster from 10.45pm.

Trains are running as shuttles between Upminster and Grays, with the last Fenchurch Street service via Ockendon departing at 8.11pm.

The Rainham line is also affected by works between Fenchurch Street and Barking from 8.45pm.

Trains on this route are diverted to Liverpool Street and extended to Southend Central or Shoeburyness.

The final Fenchurch Street service to Grays via Rainham leaves at 8.23pm.

To help passengers reach their destinations, tickets are being accepted at no extra charge on alternative London routes.

Passengers can use the District line between Tower Hill, West Ham and Barking; the Jubilee line between Stratford and West Ham; and the DLR between Tower Gateway, Limehouse, West Ham and Stratford.

After 10.45pm, tickets are also valid on the District line between Barking and Upminster.

The services are scheduled to run as normal across Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

However, on Sunday, engineering work between Barking and Grays via Rainham will take place until 12:35, affecting both the Basildon and Rainham lines.

On the Rainham line, replacement buses will operate between Upminster, Rainham, Purfleet, and Grays, with no trains running along the route.

On the Basildon line, trains from Liverpool Street will be diverted to Fenchurch Street via West Ham, but will not stop at Stratford.

Tickets will be valid on alternative routes at no extra cost.
