A Romford shop has been slapped with a closure notice after reports of anti-social behaviour.

Customers are unable to enter RM Mini Market on Fairview Parade after the Metropolitan Police issued the notice on Tuesday (July 28).

It prohibits access to all members of the public from 2am on Tuesday to 2am tomorrow (July 30).

Only those who habitually reside on the premises or the owner are permitted to enter during this period, the notice reads.

Police said they had reasonable grounds to believe the premises had resulted in "nuisance" to members of the public or disorder in the surrounding area.

The application for a full closure order will be heard at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today (July 29).

If granted, the order could see the premises closed for up to three months.

Anyone who enters the premises in contravention of the closure notice commits a criminal offence, punishable by up to three months’ imprisonment and an unlimited fine.
