A fundraiser has been launched following the death of a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run.
Anwar Shinwari was found by emergency services responding to reports of a crash at the junction of the A12 and Whalebone Lane North at 9.20pm on July 19.
The 28-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Floral tributes were laid near the busy junction just days after the incident, with a message left at the scene by those that knew him.
It reads: "As Romford riders we all pay solidarity and utmost respect to our Brother Anwar Shinwari. RIP."
A GoFundMe has now been launched in a bid to raise funds to repatriate Mr Shinwari to Afghanistan and support his family with funeral costs as they go "through an incredibly tough time."
The crash remains under investigation, with the Metropolitan Police Service seeking the driver of a car who is said to have fled the scene on foot headed further into Chadwell Heath.
Police have named a man they wish to speak to as Lee Culleton, who is known to the Canvey Island area.
Mr Culleton is described as standing at between 5ft9in and 5ft10in and of medium to large build.
Det Insp Mark Braithwaite said: "We are keen to speak with Mr Culleton in connection with this incident, which has resulted in a man tragically losing his life.
"If any members of the public see Culleton, we strongly advise you not to approach him and to call 999 as soon as possible."
Anyone with information about Mr Culleton’s whereabouts or who has seen him is asked to call 999 quoting reference CAD 7142/19JUL.
