A business hoping to be "one of the best sushi restaurants in London" has opened a new spot in Upminster.
Sushi Handroll's newest branch opened in Corbets Tey Road last Saturday (July 11).
Muhammad Noman, who started the business in 2021, said the opening day went exactly as planned.
“The opening day was amazing – it was lovely," he said.
“Lots of people showed up - local people and they enjoyed it.
“Business is doing well and we still have a 25pc off offer this week – it’s been good."
Muhammad said the freshness of food served at Sushi Handroll is what sets it apart from competitors.
“We’re making fresh sushi – normally the big brands prepare their food in the morning and then sell it throughout the day," he said.
Sushi Handroll's website says: "Our aim is for the name to ring bells when the words 'high quality and fresh sushi' are mentioned and to have the reputation of being one of the best sushi restaurants in London."
Originally, Sushi Handroll was established in Ilford and has since expanded to open 12 branches across London, including the Upminster site.
“We have a store in Romford and we had a good response so we thought we’d expand into a nearby local area after a bit of research," Muhammad said.
“I want to say thank you to the people who showed up on opening day to support us.
“I hope they enjoy eating with us and they come back."
Muhammad said the business is beginning to launch franchises, with the first franchised branch set to open in Brighton next month.
On Monday (July 13), Sushi Handroll's Facebook page posted saying: "Upminster, we are officially open!
"A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our grand opening on Corbets Tey Road!
"Your energy and warm welcomes mean the world to our team.
"We're so excited to serve you the freshest handrolls, crispy katsu, and boba! Pop in and taste the hype - see you soon!"
