The opening date for a new Pret A Manger in Rainham has been confirmed.
The new branch forms part of a broader refurbishment taking place at the Esso Motor Fuel Group (MFG) Beam petrol station in New Road, which also incorporates a new cafe and sandwich shop offering.
Pret A Manger has confirmed to the Recorder that the branch will open on August 13, with 15 new members of staff set to be taken on for the launch.
The date was first signalled in a June 26 post by a public Facebook profile named MFG Beam Esso Petrol Station Londis & Pret A Manger, which said: "Countdown starts now.
"Grand opening on 13th of August 2026 - 49 days to go."
"Brand new Londis store, Pret A Manger, car wash, EV charging points and lots more."
Photos shared alongside the post showed the petrol station cordoned off behind fencing, with a banner reading: "Pret. Coming soon".
The same post included images of a separate structure to the rear of the petrol station, which bears no branding, with construction work visible on the ground in front of it. The petrol station is currently showing as "temporarily closed" on Google.
MFG lodged a planning application with Havering Council in April for a new jet wash and valeting bay, along with associated forecourt works, with a decision anticipated by July 16.
Earlier this year, Pret announced plans for 30 new roadside locations in 2026, all to be delivered through its partnership with MFG.
