A new Pret A Manger shop is opening at a petrol station in Rainham.
The Esso Motor Fuel Group (MFG) Beam petrol station in New Road appears to be undergoing a refurbishment which includes a new Pret A Manger branch.
A post made by a public Facebook profile named MFG Beam Esso Petrol Station Londis & Pret A Manger on June 26 said: "Countdown starts now.
"Brand new Londis store, Pret A Manger, car wash, EV charging points and lots more."
The post was accompanied by pictures of the petrol station fenced off with a banner reading: "Pret. Coming soon".
A spokesman for Pret A Manger confirmed to the Recorder that the new branch will employ 15 new members of staff.
The Facebook post was accompanied by pictures of a separate building located behind the petrol station which does not contain any branding.
The ground in front of this building appears to be under construction.
The petrol station itself is labelled as "temporarily closed" on Google.
In April this year, MFG submitted a planning application for the installation of a new jet wash and valeting bay with associated forecourt works.
A decision is expected to be made by Havering Council by July 16.
According to website Retail Week, MFG and Pret have been franchise partners since 2021, beginning with a site in Southgate.
Pret announced in early 2026 that it planned 30 new roadside openings this year, all in partnership with MFG.
MFG have been contacted for further information.
