A "welcoming" secondary school in Hornchurch has been praised for its pupils' attendance and achievement - both "consistently above the national average".
The Campion School, in Wingletye Lane, has been rated as reaching a "strong standard" in its latest Ofsted report across two areas: achievement, and attendance and behaviour.
This grade under the new framework means that leaders are working above the standard expected of them.
In the remaining inspection areas - including curriculum and teaching, inclusion and post-16 provision - the school was deemed to be meeting the "expected standard".
The report, published on June 22, noted how even disadvantaged pupils at the school achieve "very well" at the end of Year 11, benefiting from "targeted teaching" and "highly effective adaptations".
The report said: "This is a school where pupils consistently achieve highly across the curriculum.
"For example, over time, disadvantaged pupils' overall progress and attainment have been consistently above the national average for this group of pupils.
"Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities successfully access the curriculum.
"This includes pupils with education, health and care plans who achieve the ambitious targets that are set for them."
Attendance was also found to be "consistently above the national average", with inspectors reporting that the school works closely with families and external partners to support all pupils to attend regularly.
The Campion School teaches boys aged between 11 and 18, and these pupils were described by inspectors as "articulate about their learning", "extremely happy and safe" and demonstrating "exemplary" behaviour.
The report also said pupils themselves describe the school as "welcoming" and embrace extracurricular activities and trips, such as the Formula 1 club and the Year 7 visit to France.
Following the report, The Campion School headteacher Paul Larner said: "We were delighted that inspectors on their recent visit noted some of our strengths as a school including the achievement of students in their examinations, their outstanding attendance to school which places us in the top five per cent of the country and how students develop the 'Campion Character' leading to their exemplary behaviour.
"We look forward to welcoming inspectors back in four years time."
