Andrew Rosindell MP marks 25 years and calls for change

Being chosen to represent my hometown in the House of Commons was the proudest moment of my life and I wish to thank all the people of Romford who have voted to send me to Westminster as their MP in seven General Elections, for what is now a quarter of a century.

So, what better way to celebrate my silver jubilee than a Romford 'night at the dogs' at our wonderful local greyhound stadium.

Greyhound racing is a fabulous local tradition in Romford and long may it continue!

Yet, despite my immense pride at being Romford's MP, over the years I have witnessed many changes in Britain and Romford that I do not like and have tirelessly fought to prevent.

I have always said that Romford should remain a traditional Essex market town and that Havering is a 'town and country borough', but unfortunately, both Labour and Conservative governments, Mayor’s of London and various local council administrations of different parties, have failed to protect the character of our borough.

As Romford's MP, I have spoken out against overdevelopment and poor planning decisions, the neglect and decay of our town centre, the loss of power and resources from Havering to inner London control through the Mayor and Greater London Authority.

I've spoken out against the closure of our local police stations and the reduction in local policing of our streets and communities.

I've also spoken out against the catastrophic policy of allowing mass and uncontrolled immigration into the UK, resulting in a huge increase in population, a lack of housing, insufficient NHS capacity and all public services, with high crime, antisocial behaviour and a general lack of respect which has become the norm.

This is not the Britain or the Romford I grew up in and that is why I am determined to fight to turn things around, before it is too late.

Reform UK is the only party saying it as it is, speaking out against the decline of Britain and promoting a radical plan to put our country back on the right track, just as Margaret Thatcher did in the 1980s.

Despite there being yet another change of Prime Minister expected soon, I don’t see much improvement with Labour still in power for another three years.

We need real change now and a government that will reform and restore our country to the Britain we know and love.
