A main road in Romford town centre is partly closed due to emergency gas works, with delays "likely".

Cadent Gas started work in Romford High Street at around 4am on Thursday (June 11), near its junction with the ring road.

According to Causeway one.network, a lane closure is in place due to the emergency works and drivers are "likely" to face delays.

The closure could continue until June 19 at 11.59pm.

Elsewhere in the town centre, Havering Council roadworks on St Edwards Way are expected to finish today (June 12) but are not deemed likely to cause delays.
