The Mayor of Havering has announced Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) as her chosen charity of the year.
CRY supports families affected by undiagnosed heart conditions in young people, raises awareness, and promotes vital cardiac screening across the UK.
Havering mayor Maggie Themistocli, who represents Hylands and Harrow Lodge wards, said: "The charity’s work is very close to my heart and has special personal significance. By visiting local groups and engaging with young people, I hope to ensure that our borough is better equipped to save lives in instances where every second counts.
