This year we welcomed several new arrivals to the farm.
Our Herdwick ewe Ella had a little boy named Merlin, while Abs had two little girls who are still waiting for names.
Our Royal Golden Guernsey goats also had a busy spring, with Clover giving birth to Dandelion and Daffodil, and Harmony welcoming a little boy named Mango.
Our Nubian cross goat also surprised us with two little girls after an unexpected encounter with the billy goat!
Thankfully, all mums and babies are doing well, and we can finally stop checking night cameras and catch up on sleep.
Our bottle-fed lamb and goat kids are now fully weaned and thriving.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped with feeding over the past few months - this remains one of our most popular activities.

Our Spring Babies Event was a success, with lovely weather, a fantastic turnout, and plenty of fun during the Easter Egg Hunt.
We have also welcomed bees. Our volunteer gardeners and beekeepers, Dara and Debbie, have established an apiary on site, and we now have three thriving hives.
With a bit of patience, Wellgate honey will soon be on its way!
As always, we are working hard to secure the farm's future through our ‘Keep Us Growing’ campaign.
Rising costs, including hay, feed, fuel, staffing and veterinary care, continue to put pressure on finances. We are also in discussions with the council about a significant proposed rent increase in our lease.
Your continued support through visits, events, volunteering and fundraising helps us remain sustainable.
Work on our new website continues, and while progress is slow, we hope to launch soon. In the meantime, follow our Facebook and Instagram for updates, events and news.
This summer we hope to open the farm for a series of evening events. The first will be a Sound Bath Experience on July 2, offering a relaxing evening surrounded by nature, animal sounds and open skies.
As 2026 is the UN Year of Volunteering, we are continuing our recruitment drive.
Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet people, gain experience and support your local community. If you can spare a few hours a week, we'd love to hear from you.
