A man has been banned from the roads for 19 months after being caught drink driving in Romford.

Marian Rotaru, 29, of Netherfield Gardens in Barking, admitted the offence at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on May 8.

He was driving a Jaguar XF R-SPORT in South Street, Romford on April 13.

A breath test showed Rotaru had 76 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35 micrograms.

He pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed alcohol limit.

Magistrates imposed a 19-month driving ban, which could be reduced by 19 weeks if he completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course by May 27, 2027.

Rotaru was also fined £923.

He was ordered to pay an £85 contribution towards prosecution costs and a £369 surcharge.
