A new food and leisure campaign at Lakeside Shopping Centre is turning a simple meal into a full day out, as reported by our sister title London Now.
Lakeside’s “Menu Mission” invites visitors to unlock rewards and activities across the centre after dining at participating restaurants.
I was invited to Lakeside to try out the new campaign, and what began as a straightforward meal quickly turned into a full day of entertainment, London Now reports, where further details of the initiative can be read.
The Menu Mission has just landed at Lakeside, and the concept is simple.
You start with a meal and that unlocks access to a range of leisure rewards across the centre.
It is designed to turn a quick bite into something much more of an experience.
Taking part is easy.

You spend £12 or more in the food court, keep your receipt, and use it to unlock exclusive discounts on activities.
Each £12 spent gives you access to one leisure offer, and bookings need to be made on the same day as your food purchase, with the campaign running until 30 April 2026.
I decided to try it properly and make an afternoon of it.
First stop was Nando’s, which was busy but reliable as ever.
It is the kind of place that works for any occasion, whether you are grabbing something quick or settling in for a longer catch-up.
After ordering a classic peri-peri meal, I made sure to keep hold of the receipt, which is key to the whole experience.
From there, I headed to Immersive Gamebox, one of the headline offers included in the campaign.

With the Menu Mission, you can get 30 per cent off the experience, available until 30 April, excluding Saturdays and subject to availability.
It was easily the highlight of the visit.
The experience puts you inside a private digital gaming room where you wear visors and interact with the walls around you.
It is fast-paced, interactive and surprisingly competitive.
It felt completely different to anything you would normally associate with a shopping centre and that is really the point of the campaign.
There are also plenty of other offers included.
Visitors can get 20 per cent off tickets to Nickelodeon Adventure, £5 off Flip Out arena and laser quest sessions, or 10 per cent off climbing and soft play at Rock Up, depending on when you visit and availability.
To round things off, I headed to RUSH for a blow dry, which was a nice way to slow the pace after the energy of the games.

It also highlighted how much Lakeside now offers in one place.
Within a few hours, I had gone from lunch to gaming to a salon treatment without needing to leave the centre.
What stood out most is how simple the idea is.
You eat, you keep your receipt, and you unlock something extra.
It does not overcomplicate things, but it genuinely changes how you spend your time there.
The Menu Mission feels like a push to get people to explore more of Lakeside beyond just shopping, and having tried it myself, it works.
It turns a standard visit into something more rounded, especially if you are already planning to eat there.
The campaign runs until 30 April, so there is a limited window to take advantage.
Your mission starts as soon as you order, and it is a surprisingly easy one to complete.
