A Dagenham primary school where pupils' behaviour is "exemplary" and children make "excellent" starts to education has been praised by Ofsted.
The education watchdog visited Monteagle Primary School in Burnham Road on February 10 and 11 utilising the new report card system which places schools in tiers of exceptional, strong standard, expected standard, needs attention or urgent improvement for different categories.
Ofsted deemed the primary school to have a "strong standard" in the seven categories of achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, early years, inclusion, leadership and governance and personal development and wellbeing.
The report said: "Behaviour across the school is exemplary.
"Pupils are consistently polite, considerate and highly motivated to learn.
"In lessons, they concentrate deeply, listen respectfully and contribute thoughtfully to discussions."
Headteacher Sara Rider said the visit from Ofsted was "intense, probing and vigorous".
Reacting to the findings, she said: "To come out of the inspection to be judged as strong in all seven areas is an incredible achievement and very few schools nationally have achieved the same results.
"It has been a culmination of teamwork, dedication, hard work and a relentless focus on driving improvement for all children in our school that has helped us to achieve this.
"Monteagle is truly the most amazing school and I am so incredibly proud to be the headteacher here."
As well as praising a "carefully sequenced" curriculum, inspectors were impressed with the school's progression of pupils' personal development.
The report said: "Leaders place great importance on helping pupils grow into confident, thoughtful and responsible young people.
"The school’s clear values of working hard, trust and respect underpin a well established character curriculum that shapes pupils’ attitudes and conduct."
Inspectors also praised Monteagle's early years provision and noted pupils making "excellent" starts to their education.
They said from nursery onwards, children learn in "calm, purposeful and language-rich environments" and adults consistently "model vocabulary, extend conversations and challenge children’s thinking".
The report also praised inclusion being at "the heart of this school’s culture" and claimed specially resourced provision for pupils with special educational needs or disabilities is "highly effective".
Ms Rider added: "The team and culture we have all created over the last few years is nothing short of incredible and the children are the real stars.
"Being a forward thinking, research-led and evidence informed school has transformed our approach to all areas of school life and I could not be prouder that the hard work and dedication to our children and the school community has been recognised.
"I must also thank our parents who I have to say were fabulous throughout, sending well wishes, cards and taking time to speak to the inspectors across the two days, really made all the difference.
"It's onwards and upwards now for us and I'm very excited for the next chapter."
