Seven people were arrested after a young woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash on the M25 near Hornchurch.
Aliyah Hoque, 23, an estate agent from Redbridge, died following a crash at around 7.50pm on Good Friday (April 3).
Six men – aged 20, 21, 26 and three 19-year-olds - and an 18-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They have all since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
An inquest into Ms Hoque’s death was opened at East London Coroner’s Court on Friday (April 17).
The collision took place on the M25 anticlockwise between junction 29 at Upminster and junction 30 at Aveley in Thurrock.
The collision involved a HGV vehicle and three cars - Ms Hoque's BMW 1 Series, a Land Rover and a Vauxhall Astra estate.
“Ms Hoque was the only occupant of her vehicle and succumbed to her injuries,” senior coroner Graeme Irvine said.
“Information provided by the Metropolitan Police Service was that Ms Hoque’s death is being investigated as part of a wider investigation into dangerous driving due to the actions of other drivers on the road at the same time.”
Det Sgt Ed Rulton, of the Met’s Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family, loved ones and wider community.
"The family, who are being supported by specially trained officers, have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
“Our investigation continues and I would urge anyone with any information or dashcam footage, particularly of any vehicles that may have been driving erratically before the collision, to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 6459/3APR or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
Coroner Mr Irvine said he must open an inquest because Ms Hoque's cause of death, head injury, was an unnatural cause of death.
The full inquest will take place at a later date.
