Another Havering open space has been officially designated a village green.
The Havering Well Garden in Romford is now protected for public use under village green status.
Havering Council leaders, residents and community groups gathered to celebrate the dedication on Sunday, March 22.
The Havering Well Garden has been rejuvenated in recent years through resident involvement and volunteer support, making it a vibrant and welcoming community space.

Cllr Ray Morgon, leader of Havering Council, said: "These village green dedications represent our manifesto commitment to protecting the green spaces that mean so much to our residents.
"By securing village green status for The Havering Well Garden, it brings the total number of much‑loved green spaces now protected as village green to 14 since 2024.
"We are ensuring they can be enjoyed now and for generations to come. I want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate over the weekend, and the community groups and volunteers who continue to play such an important role in caring for these vital spaces."
This latest dedication completes the council’s current phase of village green designations, part of wider efforts to protect, improve, and maintain green spaces across the borough. It also aligns with the council’s broader environmental goals.
