A man is in hospital after an incident on the tracks at a tube station in Hornchurch.

The British Transport Police (BTP) was alerted to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Hornchurch Underground station shortly before 8am on March 7.

Officers were dispatched to the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service.

All lines between Barking and Upminster were closed whilst the incident was dealt with.

A man was located and was taken to hospital.

His injuries have since been confirmed to be non-life threatening or changing.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for BTP said: Officers were called to Hornchurch Underground station at 7.47am on Saturday (7 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, and a person was taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening or life changing. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
