A two-year-old girl who was allegedly attacked by dogs in a Romford park has suffered "potentially life-changing" injuries.
The incident occurred at Raphael Park and was reported to police on February 2.
The girl was taken to hospital and police seized two dogs in the following days.
She has since been discharged but the Met Police has said her injuries are believed to be "potentially life-changing".
On Monday (February 16) , the Recorder confirmed a 63-year-old man was arrested on February 14 and charged with three offences under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
Police have since confirmed the man's identity to be Nigel Gray, 63, of Romford.
He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on March 17.
Two counts are linked to the incident in Raphael Park where the girl was alleged to have been attacked by two dogs.
Another count relates to a separate incident at Bedfords Park Walled Garden, at around 10:30am on September 20, 2024 when a 74-year-old man was allegedly bitten by two dogs and suffered minor injuries.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "A man has been charged with three counts of allowing dogs to be dangerously out of control causing injury to a person.
"Nigel Gray, 63 (26.10.62) of Romford was charged on Sunday, 15 February in relation to two separate incidents.
"He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17 March.
"Two counts are linked to an incident in Raphael Park, Romford at around 12:25hrs on Monday, 2 February, where a two-year-old girl was alleged to have been attacked by two dogs.
"She was taken to hospital but has since been discharged. Her injuries are believed to be potentially life-changing.
"A further count relates to a separate incident at Bedfords Park Walled Garden, Romford at around 10:30hrs on Friday, 20 September 2024, where a 74-year-old man suffered minor injuries after allegedly being bitten by two dogs."
