High Beech - Essex village used for Knives Out movie but no station

High Beech is found just less than 12 miles outside of Romford, nestled in the heart of Epping Forest.

The village, also called 'High Beach', has no rail or Tube station of its own, with the closest station being Loughton located two miles away.

Its rural location within the forest means public transport options are limited, lacking a bus route that directly serves the village.

Despite its low-profile nature, the village was somewhat thrust into the limelight it was recognised on screens as a major location used in the filming of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Scenes for the film, starring Daniel Craig, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin and more, are understood to have been shot inside the Church of the Holy Innocents.

The Grade II listed Gothic Revival church dates back to 1873, composed by Victorian church architect Arthur William Blomfield and contains a Henry Willis organ from 1878.

The village is home to two pubs - The Owl, in Lippitts Hill, and the Kings Oak Hotel.

The Kings Oak is a gastro pub located inside a Victorian building dating back to 1887.

It features timber beams, log fires and antique chandeliers.

The Owl has been around since 1776 but was rebuilt in 1975, featuring open fires and wood panelling.
