A planning application was submitted to Havering Council at the end of October for the change of use of a former office building at 154 Rainham Road to a seven-bedroom HMO.
The application was submitted by agent KMDS Designs on behalf of applicant Constructions Sealants Limited of KMDS Group.
According to the planning statement, the proposal seeks to bring a vacant building back into use through a "high-quality residential conversion" providing "well-designed accommodation that meets modern housing needs while preserving the character and function of the surrounding area".
The former office building is an end-of-terrace property on the eastern side of Rainham Road and was originally built as a house but subsequently converted into an office some years ago.
According to the document, the property has been extended over time including a double storey side extension, rear extension and garage and store area.
Each bedroom in the proposed HMO would be equipped with a built-in wardrobe/ cupboard, a kitchenette and a private en-suite bathroom.
The planning statement said the development would be "finished to a luxury standard, designed to appeal to professional tenants seeking higher-quality shared accommodation".

The building can last be seen in use on Google Maps in 2012 by Construction Sealants Ltd.
The document claimed the change of use would not adversely affect the amenity of neighbours and the level of activity generated by seven people is comparable to that of a large family.
It is also expected that the proposed HMO would result in a "reduction in overall traffic".
According to the planning statement, the site benefits from good access to local amenities, public transport links and local services within Rainham.
The surrounding character is "primarily residential, consisting mainly of traditional two-storey terrace and semi-detached dwellings".
A decision is expected to be made by Havering Council by December 22.
