A coffee shop in Romford has reopened with a new look and an AI robot service.

Bakers + Baristas, in The Mercury shopping centre, welcomed customers back today (November 14) after a refurbishment and rebrand.

The cafe, one of the newest Bakers + Baristas branches, now features new mood lighting, seating and an AI robot service.

It will also continue to offer freshly baked muffins and pastries, freshly ground coffee, and lunch options.

At the reopening, the Romford team was pictured with the robot - which is currently on trial - outside the venue, with balloons also decorating the entrance.

To celebrate the relaunch, Bakers + Baristas gave out free coffee from 10am on Friday.

The chain was founded in 1981 and has now grown to 63 branches across the UK and Ireland, building up a recipe book of more than 400 cakes and muffins and offering an evolving seasonal menu in each store.
