Road users in Gidea Park have been warned to expect delays as water works get underway.

The work by Essex & Suffolk Water was started at 7.30am this morning (October 9) in Heath Park Road.

According to the water company's website, a leak has been reported along the road but it is not known at this stage if the works relate to this issue.

A notice on Essex & Suffolk Water's website reads: "Leak found in Heath Park Road.

"We'll arrange for a team to come out to the reported leak and investigate."

Two-way traffic control signals have been put in place to allow for Essex & Suffolk Water to do their job.

The works are expected to have an impact on traffic, with motorists warned that "delays are likely".

Essex & Suffolk Water is scheduled to be working on Heath Park Road for six days, with the schedule expected to complete by 11.59pm on October 15.
