CAMRA has released its Good Beer Guide 2026 including eight east London pubs that were not included in last year's edition.

The list was released today (September 25) and is described by CAMRA as "the definitive guidebook to pubs that serve great cask beer across the UK".

It uses an independent, volunteer-led selection process that makes it "the authoritative and trusted voice of cask beer drinkers".

Eight pubs across east London have featured in the 2025 edition that were not in the 2024 list, including four in Tower Hamlets.

The White Swan in Alie Street, Aldgate is a Grade II listed building and CAMRA highlighted its displays of "old artefacts, old photographs and news sheet editions" as decoration in the 2026 guide.

The pub is located on the grounds of the old Half Moon Theatre and has a 4.4 out of five star Google rating.

Williams Ale and Cider House in Artillery Lane, Spitalfields was also included in the list.

With a 4.5 average Google rating, CAMRA credits the pub's 14 handpumps split evenly between "interesting cask ales and ciders".

The Clement Attlee in Commercial Road, just outside Limehouse station, was taken over by The Craft Beer Company in 2016 and features in CAMRA's 2026 guide.

It described the boozer as having "very much a pub vibe", and acknowledges the fact it still has a number of the original features such as a bass mirror and stained glass.

It has a 4.5 average Google rating.

Also new to the 2026 guide is The Camel in Globe Road, Bethnal Green.

CAMRA described the establishment as a "small corner pub of a type becoming rare in London" and having "convivial atmosphere".

Waltham Forest also had three new entries to the guide.

The Leyton Engineer in High Road, Leyton is one of these.

With a 4.3 average Google rating, the pub is located in a former town hall building and has "a large bar, separate games room, dining room and snugs, all retaining original features and offering plenty of seating", according to CAMRA.

The pub's cask beers come from London brewers and further afield and are complemented by 14 keg fonts and a cask cider.

The Northcote Arms in Grove Green Road, Leytonstone is included in CAMRA’s national inventory of historic pub interiors, with a horseshoe bar, front room with stage, back room with fireplace and a snug.

With an average Google rating of 4.6, the boozer has two rear gardens and offers extra cask ales on Leyton Orient FC home match days.

The King's Head in King's Head Hill, Chingford is also new to the Good Beer Guide and has an average Google rating of 4.1.

CAMRA claims this Stonegate Group owned pub sells the "widest range of real ales in the area".

One pub in Newham was new to the guide this year - The Golden Fleece in Capel Road, Forest Gate with a 4.3 average Google rating.

CAMRA wrote: "Busy in the summer, the large garden here is popular with families, and the pub’s recently refurbished interior has a comfortable atmosphere.

"The whole pub is community focused, with fun days for the family and a jamming session for local musicians on alternate Friday evenings."
