Barley Lane, Little Heath crash: Six people in hospital

The incident occurred shortly before 9am this morning (August 25) at the junction of Eastern Avenue with Hainault Road. 

A road closure was put in place in response to the crash, which unfolded in the middle of a busy crossroads.

Six people have been taken to hospital and are reportedly in non-life threatening or life changing conditions. 

Three of those injured have been taken to major trauma centres.

The roof of the vehicle has been bent upwards, with a large cordon in place surrounding the scene. 

Police officers surveying the scene (Image: Alexandra Pavel) A Met police spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of a collision between a car and a fire engine on the junction of Eastern Avenue and Barley Way at 8.59hrs on Monday, 25 August.

"Six people were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service for assessment and are all being treated as non-life-threatening or life-changing.

"An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of the collision."
