Two men have been sentenced after they robbed a luxury watch from a man they spotted at Upminster station.
The robbery took place on a C2C train towards Southend Central.
Labroun Blake-Smith, 19, and Melike McAdam, 22, both of no fixed abode, were each convicted of robbery.
Blake-Smith was sentenced to 18 months in prison while McAdam was given a 15-month sentence suspended for two years.
At around 4.30pm on March 31, 2021, the 21-year-old victim was at Upminster station when he noticed two men looking at him from the opposite platform before he boarded a train to Southend Central.
During the journey the same men approached him shortly after the train stopped at Basildon station.
Blake-Smith threatened the victim, suggesting he had a knife, before robbing him of a luxury watch and cross body bag.
The pair left the train at Chalkwell station whilst the victim continued to Southend Central where he phoned the police.
An area search was conducted in Leigh-on-Sea where both Blake-Smith and McAdam were stopped by police.
McAdam was found to be in possession of the victim’s watch.

Investigating officer PC Maria Wheele said: "Blake-Smith and McAdam targeted their victim, spotting him on the platform before carrying out their robbery and causing him to fear that he would be seriously harmed if he didn't hand his possessions over.
"I want to thank the victim for swiftly contacting police, meaning officers were able to carry out an area search that quickly resulted in them identifying and arresting the two men.
“This is further proof that robbery on the railway network will not be tolerated, and we'll do everything in our power to bring offenders to justice - as Blake-Smith and McAdam have found here."
