A man who told an underage girl he would like to join her in bed has been sentenced.
Daniel Duhig, 27, of Hyland Way in Hornchurch, pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between December 28, 2023, and January 5, 2024.
Court documents state that the messages included asking her if she had a boyfriend, whether she was a virgin and saying he would like to join her in bed.
On Monday, May 19, he appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court where he was sentenced to six months custody, suspended for 18 months.
The sentence included 100 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehabilitation activity.
Duhig will be required to sign the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
