A school is celebrating after having waiting lists to join it for the first time.
Hogarth Primary School, in Brentwood, will be full in Reception - and all years bar year 1 - for its September 2025 intake, which it says has never happened before.
Of the cohort of Reception pupils joining next school year, a total of 85 per cent noted Hogarth as their first choice of school – compared to just 50pc the previous year.

Staff have contacted every parent who is joining the school to welcome them on board and to begin building relations for the future.
The school said two families who were allocated Hogarth when it was not on their list of choices were invited in for their first visit to the school – and came away so impressed they have now accepted their children’s places.
Headteacher Rob Watson - who arrived with Discovery Educational Trust less than two years ago – is excited for the future.
He said: "I am elated. All of the hard work from all of the staff is paying off.
“The school has been through a challenging couple of years. The trust and myself came along with a priority of picking it up and getting it back on its feet.
“This is the first time we have ever had waiting lists. We are so proud of what we have done."
