A new school street trial is set to be introduced around four schools in Havering.

Havering Council will trial a new pedestrian and cycle zone on the roads around The Brittons Academy, Whybridge Infant School, Whybridge Junior School - all in Rainham - and Rise Park Infant and Junior School.

The experimental traffic order will come into effect on June 2 and will last 18 months.

For the three Rainham schools, the zone will cover part of Blacksmith Lane, Harlow Road, Ford Close, Ford Lane and Sunningdale Avenue.

It will be enforced between 8am and 9am, and between 2.30pm and 3.45pm, every weekday during term time.

For Rise Park Infant and Junior School, the school street zone will cover part of Annan Way, Ayr Way, Ayr Green and Deveron Way.

It will be enforced between 8am and 9am, and between 2.30pm and 3.30pm, every weekday during term time.

Those with school street permits will be able to access the zones during enforcement times.

The order is open to feedback until June 26 and objections can be made to introducing a permanent zone within six months of the start date.

Any feedback should be made in writing to Assistant Director Public Realm, Town Hall, Main Road, Romford RM1 3BB.
