Three cars were involved in a crash that shut a stretch of M25 for almost two hours.

Essex Police was called to the incident on the clockwise carriageway of the motorway between J29 Upminster and J30 Thurrock just after 1pm this afternoon (January 11).

No injuries were reported in the aftermath of the crash, which involved three cars.

All traffic was stopped while emergency services attended the incident, before one lane was opened up at around 3pm.

A police spokesperson told Romford Recorder that the vehicles involved in the crash have now been moved to “a safe location to await recovery”.

National Highways has warned drivers to expect delays of up to an hour and 15 minutes throughout the afternoon.
