Two men are set to appear in court as a large cannabis factory with around £1million of plants has been found at Romford Market Place.
Police discovered the factory in the town centre on November 26 after a warrant was carried out in the morning at 7.44am.
According to police, the plants at the site were worth around £1million, and the discovery was considered as a risk to the public.
In a new update from the force, two men are set to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 23.
They have been named as 32-year-old Jaupaj Devis and 22-year-old Denion Matodashaj.
Both were arrested during the raid at the building and charged with cultivation of cannabis.
Inspector Matt Willson for Romford Town Centre said: “This was a substantial seizure of cannabis plants worth approximately £1million.
“Criminality in this scale puts the public at risk and was potentially dangerous to those visiting the town centre or living in close proximity.
“I would like to assure the public that following our warrant, UK Power Networks has made the electrics safe.
“Our priority is to disrupt organised crime groups and prevent drugs being sold in Havering and we are very committed to protecting our communities from the rime and anti-social behaviour that is often linked to drugs supply.”
