A family has set up a Christmas light display dubbed 'Romford Wonderland' to raise money for a special school.
The Grange family have decorated their Pettits Lane house extravagantly for Christmas since moving in ten years ago.

“We just hope it brings a bit of joy to people over Christmas.
“There’s thousands of people who have come out to look at it so far. Kids are buzzing and everyone seems to be so happy and jolly.”
Money donated by visitors is going towards Lime Academy Ravensbourne, an all age special education school in Romford which Ian's daughter attends.
"They’re raising money for a life skills caravan to go on site", said Ian.

“It takes about three or four weekends worth of work and I also have two guys who work for a couple of weeks straight making frame works and putting fake snow down etc.”
Although the majority of social media attention has been positive, with the display being dubbed 'Romford Wonderland', Ian has still had to deal with critics.
"It’s sad though - the first few years I wouldn’t do it for charity because of people’s reactions to it. Even now I get comments from people claiming that I take money out from donations to cover my costs.

“I’m lucky to run my own successful business so that’s why I can afford to do this. If you can give a little bit back to the community then it's nice to do that and make people happy.
“If you're doing well, which I am, we should be able to all share it and have a bite of the same apple. If you can make that many people happy then it's fantastic.”
