A huge fire has destroyed a canal boat in east London and prompted the fire brigade to issue a warning about exploding gas cylinders.
The River Lea was the scene of a dramatic fire after a five-tonne narrow boat was destroyed on Sunday (August 4).
Firefighters received more than ten calls at 10.07pm that day and removed a gas cylinder from the scene after cooling it to an ambient temperature.
"Some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat," a London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesperson said.
Six fire engines and 40 firefighters tackled the boat blaze near Wick Lane.

A video shared to X from Sarah Louise, who confirmed the fire occurred on the River Lea near Wick Lane, shows billowing smoke and emergency service lights from the canal.
It took the LFB more than an hour to extinguish the blaze by 11.23pm.
Crews from Homerton, Bethnal Green, Stratford and nearby fire stations attended.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation," the LFB added.
