Dozens of firefighters tackled a fire at a derelict building in Harold Hill that is being probed by police.

The London Fire Brigade control room received reports at 8.59pm yesterday (June 10) of a fire at an address in Troopers Drive. 

Around 35 firefighters in five fire engines from across Harold Hill, Romford, Dagenham, and surrounding fire stations were dispatched.

Half of the first floor and roof of the two-storey derelict annexe was damaged in the fire and there were no injuries reported. 

The fire was extinguished by 11.44pm, taking crews almost three hours to get under control. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by both the Metropolitan Police and the London Fire Brigade.
