A mother of a two-year-old girl has said she wants to move out after a "scary" attempted burglary on her family's home by three people in masks.

Sonia Aslam, 29, who lives with husband Sami Naeem, 26, and their daughter Ayra, said three individuals forced open their Dagnam Park Drive front door at around 12.20am yesterday (March 4).

Sonia, who has lived there for two years, said three suspects wearing face coverings had almost broke in when the family was asleep but fled at the last minute.

Police today (April 5) confirmed there had been an attempted burglary.

"No suspects were arrested and the investigation continues," a Metropolitan Police spokesperson added.

Sonia said she would not have known what to do if the individuals gained access inside.

"I really want to move house," she said. "The scary thing is when you have children.

"When we heard the sound [of the attempted forced entry] I didn't ever expect someone was trying to open our door, I thought something just fell.

"But my husband looked higher up [through] the bedroom window and saw a male standing there, so he quickly knocked on the window and by the time he went downstairs they were running from the house."

CCTV footage shows three individuals lurking near a bus stop, before making their way to Sonia's property.

The video appears to show the trio attempting to force their way through the front door, before fleeing in the opposite direction.

Sonia said they pried the door open, causing damage, but ran off once Sami made his presence known.

Police attended shortly after and were "helpful" but the suspects had already made off, she added.

"No one has ever attempted to open our door or break into the house before," Sonia said. "It does make you feel unsafe in your own house and you shouldn't feel like that."

She previously saw an individual in the area attempting to break into cars, but this was the first attempt at her family home.

Having viewed the CCTV, Sonia thinks the attempted break-in was orchestrated.

"Maybe this was planned," she said. "They knew what they were doing last night."
