Buildings were coloured red this week in a spate of graffiti attacks just days after climate protests.
Officers from the City of London Police were called to Leadenhall Street, St Mary Axe and Fenchurch Street in Aldgate at around 5am on February 29.
Buildings were reported to have been painted or spattered with a red substance
Chief Inspector Dan Murphy said: ”Officers were called following reports of red graffiti over the front of three buildings in the City.
“At one of these incidents fire extinguishers were used and were left at the scene. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.”
One building that was affected was the American Insurance Group (AIG) office on Fenchurch Street.
The graffiti comes just two days after Extinction Rebellion protesters held demonstrations against insurance companies they believe cover the fossil fuel industry on February 27.

Members of the group have also gained access to another AIG building in Glasgow.
It is not clear if the red graffiti on the AIG building is linked to the Extinction Rebellion protest two days previously.
AIG declined to comment.
Police have confirmed enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
