A man from Stratford has been arrested and charged after drugs, cash and guns were found during a police raid. 

He has been charged alongside four other men as part of a largescale police operation to disrupt a drug network in Essex. 

Deveire Young, 30, of Mortham Street faces charges of conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin, two counts of possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession with intent to supply cannabis, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession of criminal property. 

The charges against him come after police executed a warrant for an address in E15 where officers seized two handguns, rounds of ammunition, cash and drugs.

The police operation honed in on gathering evidence against a drug line running crack cocaine and heroin from London to the streets of Harwich.

Guns, drugs and high-value clothing worth a suspected six-figure sum were seized in a series of warrants focused on disrupting a drug network in Essex.

Other warrants were executed across Harwich, Clacton, Colchester and Croydon on February 27. 

Also facing charges is Jason Anderson, 49, of Stour Close in Dovercourt who has been charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Alfie Sanchez, 20, of Riley Avenue, Jaywick, has been charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply cannabis and cannabis resin, two counts of possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis.

All five men appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on February 28 and were remanded in custody until a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 27.
