Police have said the death of a person whose body was found at a park in Harold Wood is not being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem examination has showed no evidence of any third party involvement, police said today (February 6).

The body was found at Paines Brook Recreation Ground, which has several schools nearby, after the force was called at around 8.05pm on January 28.

A file will be prepared for the coroner,  police said, and the death remains under investigation.

"Our enquiries have found nothing to suggest this was suspicious," a police spokesperson added.

Inspector Gary Deplanque previously said: “We know this death will cause genuine concern within the community, especially to people who have young children at the nearby school."

Enquiries to notify the next of kin continue, police said today.
