Two men have been jailed for filming the rape of a woman in a car who had been on a night out with friends.

Rinor Korqa, 25 of Dunton Road in Romford and Bujar Jashari, 34, of Victoria Road, Southend, were sentenced for rape at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 24 this year.

They had been convicted at the same court two days prior (January 22).

On June 25 in 2023, a woman, 34, was separated from her friends during a night out in Hornchurch town centre.

She was alone in a bar when two men approached her, took her to a car and drove away.

The victim recalled being raped inside the car by one of the defendants while the other recorded the attack on his phone, police said.

Detective Sergeant Charlie Yexley of the Havering crime investigation department said: "This was a complex investigation into two predatory offenders who would likely still be offending now if it wasn’t for the bravery of the victim in coming forward."

Jashari was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

Bar staff had helped with police enquiries and it was found the suspects were seen approaching several women before leaving with the victim.

DC Yexley added: “We take allegations of this type very seriously and I hope this case encourages other victims of rape and sexual assault to come forward, at the very least so we can ensure you are okay and supported.”
