A dog grooming salon is seeking council approval for its replacement of a hairdressers.

Sevak Khudaverdyan, who represents Fluff and Scruff Studio, had his application to change the use of Bliss Beauty Salon in Hillview Avenue, Hornchurch received by Havering Council on January 19.

Fluff and Scruff is a family-run business and provides grooming for dogs, including the "puppy special", nail trims, as well as bath brush and blow dry treatments.

The application was validated on January 22 and a decision date has been set to March 18.

Mr Khudaverdyan, on behalf of Fluff and Scruff, wrote that the dog grooming salon had leased the property at 138 Hillview Avenue, which previously operated as a hairdresser for 15 years but closed.

It has already been refurbished to be used as a dog grooming salon, the form states, but is now seeking council approval to validate the change of use.

The plans are currently undecided.
