The opening of a Pan-Asian restaurant in Romford has caused a stir amongst residents on Facebook.

The restaurant, Nasi Isda, opens its doors today (Saturday, January 27), at Unit 34a in The Mercury Shopping Centre in Romford.

Serving cuisine from Korea, Thailand, and Japan, Nasi Isda seems set to spice up Romford's culinary scene.

However, not everyone on social media is excited.

Louisa JM said: "Is Romford just a place to eat now?

"Bring more clothes shops."

Yet there are also those who are thrilled about Nasi Isda's arrival.

One Romford resident proudly admitted that she gets this food "2/3 times a week" and that it is "honest to god the best sushi / Korean food ever".

Another avid fan, Donna Bowers, said: "I can't wait for Nisa Isda (sic) to open, I used to go to the shop when it was in Laurie Walk, great food, friendly service and a brilliant way to try a different cultures food."

The owner, Romford local Nayab Ahmad, says Nasi Isda is set to "offer something different".

The 33 year-old, who already runs three other restaurants with his business partner, plans to add dishes like Korean corndogs, Thai green curry, and UFO burgers to the menu.

Nayab said: "The Romford area is very very special to me - you can never have enough food, but we're trying to offer something different."

Lots of residents shared his passion for the area and trying new food.

Mishkat Hussain summed it up: "Pan-Asian food is the one!"

Whether Nasi Isda is set to be a game-changer or just another restaurant, only time will tell.
