A charity shop in Romford is set to shut ahead of a move to a new location in the town.

British Heart Foundation (BHF)  announced yesterday (January 25) that its Romford home store will be moving to Market Place.

Its current premises in High Street, which provides furniture and electrical items, will close tomorrow (January 27).

The new site, next to Romford Shopping Hall, is currently vacant and the Recorder observed works going on inside the unit during a visit to the town centre last week.

Ruth Sheed, BHF area manager, welcomed the move.

“We’re thrilled that it will open its doors on Tuesday, 13 February with the help of our staff and volunteers just in time for Valentine’s Day,” Ms Sheed said.

“By shopping preloved at the BHF, you will be funding lifesaving research to keep families together for years to come.”

Ms Sheed added that the BHF is looking for volunteers and quality donations from people in Romford.
