A woman has died in a fatal crash in Dagenham this morning, police have confirmed.
Rainham Road South has been closed since the incident earlier today (January 26), after police were called to the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "Police were called at 08:26hrs on Friday 26 January to reports of a woman, believed aged in her 60s, who had suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Leys Avenue, Dagenham.
"Officers attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene."
Her next of kin have been informed of her death.

Road closures remain in place in Rainham Road South and a crime scene is in place in Leys Avenue.
The spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
"We are aware of several rumours circulating on social media as to the nature of this incident – this is being treated as a fatal road traffic collision."
