Throughout the month of February, we’re telling the story of the 21 teenagers who were murdered in 2023. Our campaign, The 21, seeks to remember every victim as a young person with a family and their whole life ahead of them. We want to change the culture of kids carrying knives and becoming involved in violence.

This is the face of Andre Salmon, a 18-year-old boy, who was shot dead in Haringey in 2023.

Name: Andre Salmon

Age: 18

From: Haringey

Here is a timeline of events and everything we know so far about his death:

Monday, July 3:

Police were called at 5pm to Constable Crescent to reports of an injured man.

Andre Salmon was found injured and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Officers believe Andre was travelling on a moped when he was shot by a suspect on an e-scooter in nearby Stamford Road.

Following the incident he continued along Stamford Road, turning left into Constable Crescent, where due to his injury his moped crashed with a parked car and he collapsed.

Following the shooting, the rider of the e-scooter, alleged to be a black man in his late teens, made off from Stamford Road.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, Specialist Crime North said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of young Andre, who has lost his life in devastating circumstances.

"This incident was even more shocking given it took place on a residential street in broad daylight.

"While we carry out various inquiries I would appeal to anyone who believes they may have information which could assist this investigation to come forward.

“No detail is too small and if you don’t feel comfortable speaking to police you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”
